Matt Downs
Matt grew up playing tennis in Central California, playing varsity tennis at Buchanan High School before playing at Fresno City College. He played number one singles his final year, earning conference titles in singles and doubles while team captain.

After college Matt competed at the Open level in Southern California until returning to Fresno to be a full time Tennis Professional. While in Fresno, he developed many tennis and pickleball programs as well as teaching both sports full time for his former club.

Matt has competed at the Open level in numerous pickleball tournaments and coordinated pickleball leagues, lessons and tournaments.

Matt’s style of teaching is centered around solid technique accompanied by a balanced mental approach to the game. He has been fortunate to work for some of the top tennis coaches in the world and wants to pay that knowledge forward every day!

When Matt is not on the courts he is usually hiking with his dog, fly fishing, or enjoying time with great people!
